Previous Weeks

  • September 17: Last Monday Night at Swiss Park!!! We had a happy albeit bittersweet farewell celebration and party. As usual we danced our buns off, only this last time for over four hours. The crew thanks everyone who dropped by over the past nine months, whether every Monday or just once in a while!! We all had a blast :)
  • September 10: We reviewed Breathless and Hey, Bruce, and then Ashley taught us the fun Hawaiian Hustle! We danced a dozen more fast dances and left happy and exhausted.
  • August 20: A couple of difficult but fun older dances tonight: Hey, Bruce and Breathless. We group-taught these, and did some simpler dances for a couple of new people who came by.
  • August 13: A busy night started with Carole teaching All My Heart. Mike stepped up yet again and taught My Rock. Amy graciously agreed to show us how to do Doors of Life, and in turn we seduced her into dancing No. 171 to Charanga music with us! We practiced counting in Japanese, Spanish, German and Chinese.
  • August 6: Mike taught us Rainbow Connection and Imagine, and then we just danced whatever came into our heads!
  • July 30: John and Rob co-taught Body to Body (who would have guessed Rob would forget the hip bumps!). We danced most of the reviews/teaches for July, and we all left sore but smiling.
  • July 23: Mike came to teach Is It So?, and the Crew muddled through without John to review I Won't Be Crying and No. 171 or Rob to review Not Like That. But it was still a fun, exhausting night of dancing!
  • July 16: The Crew continued our tradition of learning from our guests with John doing a very nice job showing us No. 171. We kept contact with the new (After You, Not Like That) and old (Mr President, High-class Broads, Home) dances we've been doing lately.
  • July 9: Rob taught the dance he and John learned at Sue and Kathy's Monday class, Not Like That. We reviewed After You and Cowboys Don't Cry, then cajoled faithful First Mate John into teaching I Won't Be Crying: thanks for a great job, John!! As always, we had a fun time dancing whatever we felt like.
  • June 18: Sam and Evelyn came to teach us Mom&Pop Grocery Store, Sam's new fun, fast dance that we all loved! We went over Home and After You, and Carole carried us through Cool Whip. John's got Nickajack down now: maybe it is time to bring it back to BnB Friday night.
  • June 11: Aerobic Monday! You know it was wild when A Gigolo was the dance we did to slow down! The Crew group-taught/reviewed Mr. President and Home, Carole ran through I Remember, Rob taught a new dance After You and we danced a bunch more.
  • June 4: Another fun Monday Night! Rob taught Home, HongYing taught I Said I Love You, and then we tried Mr President without a net (or a step-sheet). The gang wanted to review Sunset Stampede and Cowboys Don't Cry, and we also danced Slappin Leather and Would You Go With Me. Carole pleased everyone with her styling suggestions for I Remember, and wowed us all with the fast-footed Apple Jack. The Crewmates taught us Gigolo (again! the Crew promises to remember better next time).
  • May 21: A very strong class, so the reviews went really fast! After a boisterous warmup, Carole taught I Remember (a requested dance) and Walkin Wazi for the newcomers. Some new students taught us all Gigolo (they even brought the music!). At the end, Rob snuck in Nickajack, and some of the new attendees picked it up first time (woot)!
  • May 7: Carole reviewed the wild City Limits and Glenn taught those benighted few of us who didn't know it, Walkin Wazi! We had a lot of fun with Mr President also, mainly because we didn't have a clue how it went after the first 8 beats. There's one for May 21.
  • April 30: We ran through a bunch of dances: With HongYing's help, Rob remembered most of Show Me Wot U Got and Gonna Get You, Carole did Grace Kelly, Debbie did a quick review of A Place to Run, and Rob insisted on doing Nickajack -- John says he'll have it by Thanksgiving for sure. Oh, and we danced and laughed a lot.
  • April 23: Oh, what a night! Carol Eclavea ran through, Show Me Wot U Got, and we then begged her to go over Grace Kelly, also. Debbie Kachalkin was there and went over the dance she taught last Friday at BnB, A Place to Run. Thank-you, Carol and Debbie! Carole did a quick review of Hold Your Horses.
  • April 16: Jan Hanway dropped by to teach us her terrific new dance, Gonna Get You! Carol Eclavea reviewed Grace Kelly for those of us who missed it last time. We kept our feet going with Hold Your Horses, Baila Casanova, Tiggerific and others.
  • April 2: Glenn taught Hold Your Horses (a special request), a great dance which is (a) not country and (b) not something John Wayne would do. We continued to practice Would You Go With Me and some other current dances, and our special guests showed us how to do Grace Kelly.
  • March 26: Review the Reviews Night – reviewed Rock This Party and Feel the Magic for newcomers and danced, danced, danced.
  • March 19: We reviewed Freeze Frame and Rock This Party (The Crew went to Boogie!) and The Cowboy and Feel the Magic (for some new friends who dropped by).
  • March 12: We continued to re-learn Nickajack and quickly reviewed several other dances. Leslie stepped up and showed us how to do Chill Factor!
  • March 5: More Country – Guest Crewmember Clint Qualls came and reviewed the wonderful West Texas Waltz for us. He also taught a simple but fun dance, Darlin. Rob ran through Where Have You Gone for the visitors who came with Clint, and then taught Nickajack, a dance from 2003 that was hugely popular (with Rob, anyway!): perhaps this time around it will stick a while.
  • February 26: Review the Reviews Night – reviewed many of the dances we learned or reviewed so far this year.
  • February 12: 70's-80's Pop Night – taught Feel the Magic, reviewed Where Have You Gone and last week's lessons, and danced as much as we could!
  • February 5: Michael & Michele Night – reviewed Divisadero Cha, Soul Man and Heeeerre's Johnny; quick look at Baila Casanova, and ran through previous weeks' dances.
  • January 29: Country&Western Dance Night – reviewed Rednex Stomp, Clickety Clack, The Cowboy and High Class Broads and ran through previous week's dances.
  • January 22: Latin Dance Night – reviewed Baila Casanova, I Said I Love You and figured out why we messed up Soluna last week!
  • January 8, 2007: Opening Night – reviewed Tiggerific, Hootchie Dance and She Bangs, and danced a bunch of others.
